We are so glad you are interested in Clarendon Presbyterian Church. We know that visiting a new church can be both exciting and a bit daunting. We are delighted that you are considering trying out our community of worship, service, and fellowship!
Everyone is welcome; we celebrate LGBTQIA+ persons and we hope to welcome people from every race, class, ethnic group, socio-ecnonomic group, ability, and those with faith and doubt.
Worship services are at 10 am on-line via Zoom and in person. The first Sunday of the month are online only.
Our church has many entrances!
You can park in our lot (GPS address next door to 1308 North Irving Street Arlington VA 22201) or on the street. There is plenty of parking on Sundays.
Most people enter through the rainbow ramp door off of the parking lot. The doors labeled "church entrance" from our actual address 1305 North Jackson Street Arlington, VA 22201 are open as well.
What to wear/ bring: Wear whatever you'd like. Most people are seasonably casual.
Masks: When Arlington is in the "low/ green" community spread zone, masks are optional.
What the worship service is like:
We start with music, followed by announcements, then some responsive prayers, scripture, a sermon based on a passage from the Bible with reflection on what is going on in the world, followed by prayers of the people, and a blessing at the end. Music is woven throughout. Occasionally, the sermon is shorter with some group discussion. Worship is often followed by coffee and treat fellowship.
Children and Youth Ministry:
- Babies and children are most welcome. We have a children's area on the side of the sanctuary and some great play spaces throughout the church (ask about the Purple Parlor and pink kitchen in Pastor Alice's office) and on the church playground.
- We encourage all our children and youth to get involved with our regular mission and service opportunities. Please let Pastor Alice know if you might be interested.
Bathrooms: All of our bathrooms are gender inclusive. The bathroom off of the sanctuary and ramp door are ADA accessible. There are many more restrooms (though not ADA accessible) throughout the church.
Here are more ways to connect, grow and serve!
